Charities and Not for Profit Marketing

Making Third Sector marketing work harder

Over recent years we have seen digital platforms completely change the face of charity and not-for-profit marketing. Now you don’t have to have a huge budget to compete in this crowded market place. Despite the fact that there are over 180,000 registered charities in the UK, with the right strategy, digital marketing can offer a very cost-effective way to reach the right audience.

From raising funds and visitor numbers for an animal sanctuary, to organising and running a lottery that raised over £1.7million for a charity that helps RAF veterans, RH has a vast amount of experience in the third sector. And as a full-service agency, RH has the capability to originate, develop and produce the right concepts, and combine them with the right marketing strategy resulting in a measurable, effective campaign.

A great team and knowledgeable people who always strive to help us deliver effective campaigns in an extremely competitive market.

Direct response campaigns

Direct response marketing is a key tool in the armoury and can be found in nearly all forms of advertising, including TV, radio, press and, of course, online, where it is particularly effective in generating an immediate return on investment. At RH we always develop campaigns that are trackable, with measurable outcomes, aimed at specific audiences.

Google Ad Grants

Grants offers registered charities the opportunity to promote themselves through Google search. Depending on the size and mission of your charity, Grants could offer £1000s worth of advertising spend for your organisation! We have plenty of experience in introducing Grants to charities of all sizes, and understand the special requirements posed by managing PPC accounts of this type.

DRTV

There is more to Direct Response TV than putting your website or phone number on the screen for 30 seconds. At RH we have vast experience in scripting and creating, compelling stories that draw the audience in and elicit the desired response – whether that is an appeal for funds or an invitation to pledge a behavioural change.

Lotteries

Creating, organising and running a legally compliant lottery campaign is something RH has a lot of experience in. We developed and ran a successful facebook campaign selling raffle tickets to win a limited-edition Aston Martin, for the RAF Benevolent Fund. This resulted in raising nearly £2million pounds for service people and veterans in need.

Social Media

Despite its somewhat negative and lightweight reputation, there is more to social media than just generating “Likes’ and collecting ‘Followers’ and deciphering hashtags. #tellmemore! When used as part of a cohesive media strategy it can be have a dramatic effect: increasing visibility and market share, driving website conversions and increasing donations. OMG!

Branding

A charity needs a strong brand as much as a soap powder, so it’s no surprise RH has rebranded everything from colleges and towns to zoos and beers. Acting as both brand-maker and brand guardian, RH can take an organisation from initial workshop, where we drill down to the brand essence to the final, finished guidelines.
