Finance Administrator

RH Advertising is a full-service advertising agency delivering creative and strategic marketing solutions to clients across the UK. The finance function plays a vital role in supporting operational efficiency and ensuring accurate financial management across all departments. RH is an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

Role Purpose

The Finance Administrator is responsible for supporting the Finance Manager in the day-to-day running of the finance function. This role ensures accurate processing of financial transactions, effective credit control, and timely administrative support across the business.

The position requires a highly organised individual with strong attention to detail, the ability to prioritise tasks, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Purchase Ledger

  • Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
  • Manage digital invoice input
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Handle supplier queries and maintain positive working relationships
  • Complete supplier forms and documentation as required

Sales Ledger

  • Raise sales invoices
  • Cross-reference customer purchase orders against approved quotes and media plans
  • Assist with credit control

Month-End Support

  • Assist with month-end accounts preparation
  • Support reconciliations and reporting requirements
  • Maintain accurate financial records

Systems & Administration

  • Support system administration package (Synergist – training provided)
  • Assist with Sage accounts (experience desirable but not essential)
  • Creation of client quotes where required
  • Maintain organised and accurate data entry
  • Provide ad-hoc administrative support to the Finance Manager and Managing Director

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • AAT Level 2 or 3 is desirable but not essential
  • GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above)

Experience

  • Previous finance or accounts administration experience preferred
  • Experience using accounting software (Sage desirable)
  • Experience within an agency or professional services environment is advantageous but not essential

Salary/Benefits

  • Office-based role in Exeter, Devon
  • Part-time hours (20–25 hours per week) – very flexible
  • Salary – £28,000 – £32,000 pro rata
